Alien Shooter 2 is the sequel to the original Alien Shooter. You are once again a lone soldier fighting against hordes of ruthless, horribly ugly aliens who want to destroy Earth and enslave humans. This time, you also have two helper characters: Al, a retired veteran who always takes care of his little brother Bobby; and Jane, a young woman on her way to becoming an officer in charge. You can choose one of them as your permanent companion and aid in your fight for Earth’s survival. The sequel has been vastly improved over the original in terms of gameplay, graphics, and storyline. The player can now choose to fight against aliens with a friend in cooperative mode. Aliens have been redesigned both graphically and behaviour-wise, while new types of hostile creatures have been introduced to diversify the player's experience. Also added is a new post-apocalyptic background story explaining the reason behind the presence of hostile aliens on Earth. A new trophy system has been added, which allows players to earn points for killing enemies and using certain weapons or items. As players earn trophy points they will progress from one level to another gaining access to more powerful weapons and defenses. There are a total of 20 levels in the game. The combat system has been revamped and is now more streamlined and action-oriented. The player can now perform various combos, aim in specific places on enemies and use a wide range of both melee and ranged weapons, such as pistols, assault rifles and sniper rifles among others. A new ‘bullet time’ mode has also been introduced which allows the player to slow down time temporarily in order to perform combos with greater ease. Levels have been redesigned so that they can be played in both single player and cooperative modes with your friends or other players through the Internet or LAN servers. Also, the game's multiplayer mode allows for up to 8 players in teams of 2. The game offers 25 weapons for the player to choose from, with an additional 15 guns being unlocked in the game. The weapons are divided into three categories: ballistic weapons, non-ballistic weapons and tools that are used to protect against aliens. Ballistic weapons consist of all-purpose firearms that fire bullets or blasts, such as assault rifles or shotguns; while non-ballistic weapons include machine guns and rocket launchers. Tools include devices that are used mainly in order to defend against aliens, such as stun rods or plasma rifles among others. The game features two different types of saving modes: manual saves and autosaves. Manual saves are saved whenever the player enters a level that is not yet completed. Autosaves are saved whenever the player changes levels, but not when entering a completed level. Players can be notified about an autosave in either of the two ways: when the game is loaded in-game; or when pressing "F5" on their menus in Windows. Players can communicate with one another during the game in various ways, including through text chat or voice chat via headset or speaker systems connected to their PCs or game consoles respectively. cfa1e77820
